DIACOMIT® (stiripentol) is an effective, FDA-approved medication that was developed specifically to treat seizures associated with Dravet syndrome. It is indicated for patients 6 months and older (weighing 15 lb or more) taking clobazam. There are no clinical data to support the use of DIACOMIT as a monotherapy.1

Working With Our Specialty Pharmacy Partner

Biocodex has partnered with a national specialty pharmacy that will handle most of the process and deliver DIACOMIT directly to your door. Our partnership is designed to remove access barriers for you and your patients. Everyone has a role to play to help ensure that your patient gets the treatment they need in as fast as one week.

Your role as a healthcare provider:
  • Fax the specialty pharmacy required forms and information. (Review our checklist below.)
  • Provide additional documents as required by insurance plans.
  • Educate patients and caregivers about DIACOMIT and Dravet syndrome.
Your patient’s role
  • Provide insurance information to the specialty pharmacy.
  • Respond to phone calls to coordinate shipments.
  • Inform the Biocodex By Your Side team of any changes to:
    • Insurance coverage
    • Healthcare providers
    • Patient or caregiver contact information
The specialty pharmacy’s role:
  • Dispense DIACOMIT (stiripentol).
  • Process prescriptions and coordinate with insurance companies.
  • Help with treatment access through savings and support programs.
  • Educate patients and caregivers about medication management.
  • Coordinate DIACOMIT shipment and delivery.

Our Patient Savings and Support Programs

Biocodex believes that those who need DIACOMIT should be able to get it, regardless of their financial status or insurance coverage. There are four patient programs in place to ensure that your patients can easily access treatment.

Quick Start Program:
  • Up to 60-day fulfillment of DIACOMIT at no cost to the patient.
  • For newly eligible patients experiencing delays in gaining access to treatment.
Bridge Program:
  • Up to 60-day fulfillment of DIACOMIT at no cost to the patient.
  • For current patients with changes or lapses in their insurance coverage.
Copay Program:
  • $0 copay per prescription.
  • For eligible patients with commercial insurance.
  • Not available for government plans such as Medicare or Medicaid.
Long-Term Patient Assistance Program
  • Prescription of DIACOMIT at no cost to the patient.
  • For eligible patients who are uninsured or underinsured.

Fax the following to the specialty pharmacy at 833-871-4137

  • A completed Patient Enrollment Form.

  • A copy of your patient’s insurance card (front and back).

  • A prescription with clear dosing and titration instructions.

  • List of your patient’s current medications.

  • Your patient’s medical records.

Tip: Ensure your patient’s chart has a Dravet diagnosis code:

  • Dravet syndrome (G40.83), polymorphic epilepsy in infancy (PMEI) or severe myoclonic epilepsy in infancy (SMEI)
  • Dravet syndrome, intractable, with status epilepticus (G40.833)
  • Dravet syndrome, intractable, without status epilepticus (G40.834)
